Weather
Capitola's climate is mild with summer temperatures in the mid 70s and winter temperatures in the mid 50s. The sun shines 300 days a year and the humidity is low for a coastal city. Average rainfall is 31 inches per year, with most of the rainfall occurring between November and April.
Our finest attraction is our beautiful natural environment and our mild weather. Although our weather is mild, it is on the cool side, influenced by cool ocean breezes and morning fog. We have what we call zipper weather, you should be prepared to layer up any day of the year. Even if our summer days are in the 70's and 80's the evenings are often in the 50's and 60's. This creates an excellent climate for outdoor activities.
